Downlands Obedience and Ekico

Hi Everyone,

Last weekend was a bit of a whirlwind of travel and making new friends in our canine community. On Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting the team at Ekico at their offices in Caen, France. While I was with them I received training on their very latest gait analysis equipment and they shared their future plans for further development of the product. Then on Sunday I was back in the UK and I had the privilege of attending the Downlands Obedience Open Show, courtesy of kind invitation from Ria Cantrell. What an exiting day of competition where I was able to also promote physiotherapy and its benefits for dogs that compete in this highly technical field.

For those who aren’t familiar with competitive obedience, it involves a series of exercises of varying difficulty, such as heelwork, recall, dumbbell retrieve, scent work and more. The levels range from Pre-Beginners up to Class C and Ticket classes. It was an absolute pleasure to watch the dogs working and to witness the bond between them and their owners.

If you’re considering competing with your dog in a sport, why not give obedience a try? There are many clubs across the UK and it’s easy to find your local training club through https://www.withyourdog.co.uk/.

For those already competing with their dogs, physiotherapy can really help you understand your dog’s movements, condition them for the more challenging levels and improve their performance and longevity.

A big thank you to all those who made me feel so welcome over the weekend.
